Misbar investigated the widely circulated video and discovered it to be misleading. The footage was filmed during Marzouki's official visit to the country in 2014. Marzouki then traveled to Washington, D.C., for the African American Summit.
The video first aired on Tunisia's official television channel on August 6, 2014, when he arrived at the White House to meet with then-President Barack Obama.
The Tunisian authorities have issued a warrant against former President Moncef Marzouki on the background of a statement he made to France 24 about his efforts to delay the Francophonie Summit in the country.
Marzouki is a political rights activist who took office as president between 2011 and 2014.
