Emerging story
Many social media posts shared posts claiming three giraffes died at the Dallas Zoo a few weeks after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the claim and discovered it to be false.
According to the Newsweek website, none of the giraffes were vaccinated, and their deaths were caused by other factors.
After being injured, a three-month-old giraffe died. The second, a 19-year-old giraffe, died on October 22nd due to a health issue, while the death of a 14-year-old giraffe was caused by abnormal liver enzymes, according to the zoo.
The zoo had announced its intention to vaccinate its animals but had not done so when the giraffes died.
Furthermore, the zoo is still investigating whether or not the last two deaths were related.
The zoo stated on their Facebook page that they are confident that these deaths were not caused by the vaccine because they have not begun vaccinating any of their animals.
