The Claim

Pfizer's CEO was arrested and charged with fraud.

Emerging story

Facebook users and news websites have reported that US authorities have arrested Pfizer CEO Albert Polar on charges of fraud and falsifying data about the vaccine's dangerous side effects.

The claim first started circulating in English and then in Arabic, and it has since spread worldwide.

Misbar’s Analysis

There is no evidence that Albert Bourla was ever arrested or charged with fraud. According to the Conservative Beaver, Bourla was arrested on the morning of Nov. 5 and is currently being held in jail pending a bail hearing.

However, as of Nov. 6, Bourla's name did not appear in a search of the inmate database maintained by the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision in New York state, where he was allegedly imprisoned at the time. A search of the state's court system did not turn up any results for him, either.

On the same day the false claim was circulating, Albert Bourla, Pfizer's CEO, was interviewed by the CNN and CNBC

However, the Scarsdale Police Department told Lead Stories there has been “no FBI activity in Scarsdale."

The Conservative Beaver did not respond to Misbar's request for proof or comment on its claims.
