Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found that it was false. Our research revealed that the two photographs were taken many years ago in India and were not taken during the recent floods in Egypt.

The first image is of a flood that swept Kerala, India, in August 2018.

The second image is of torrential rain that swept the streets of Mumbai, India, in July 2019.

During the last two days, several Egyptian governorates declared a state of emergency and the suspension of studies due to rain and unstable weather conditions. However, the images in the claim are old and unrelated to the flooding in Egypt. Therefore the Misbar team confirms the claim is misleading.
