Emerging story
Social media accounts and pages have recently circulated a video clip of several people in a lecture/seminar discussing a plan to reduce the world population, especially in Africa, by world leaders through COVID-19 vaccination campaigns.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulated video and found it misleading. This video is outdated; it was uploaded to YouTube on Nov. 20, 2019. This means the video appeared online even before the first cases of COVID-19 emerged, which was on December 31, 2019, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The voice clip was trimmed from the original video lasted for more than one hour and a half. In the original video, the speakers discuss studies by Dr. Young and international schemes by government and leaders, including Bill Gates, to reduce the world population by a third.
According to the video, the main speaker was Robert Young, an American physical therapy coach and author of books on alternative medicine, promoting an alternative diet over medication. He had appeared on several popular TV shows to talk about his treatment of a patient with breast cancer, in which he claimed that she had recovered from the disease, but she died shortly after.
Dr. Young was arrested in January 2014, convicted in 2016 on two counts of theft and practicing medicine without a license, and spent several months in prison in 2017. Young is a COVID-19 vaccine doubter and conspiracy theorist.
