Emerging story
Several Facebook users and pages have circulated a video claiming it shows recent Moroccan protests against the normalization agreement between Morocco and Israel.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated and found the claim false. The circulating video is old and it does not show anti-normalization protests.
The video, titled "Teachers' March Today April 24th In Rabat Streets," was first posted on a YouTube channel in April 2019.
The video depicts contract teachers protesting, demanding that they be included and incorporated into the Public Service and functions rather than being part of non-permanent contracts.
In the same context, a popular song belonging to the Moroccan fans of the Moroccan RAJA football club was added to the video that was being circulated.
It is worth noting that the video first went viral on November 24, 2021, following a Moroccan-Israeli agreement to improve security, military equipment deals, and training.
