Misbar investigated the circulated claim and found it misleading. The photos do not depict a car graveyard in Japan, but car graveyards in the United States.
Lucy Nicholson took the first two photos for Reuters in March 2018. She also mentioned that they showed a car graveyard in California.
Meanwhile, the third photo was taken by Turkish photographer Aydin Büyüktas in March 2017, in New Mexico state.
