Emerging story
Social media users are circulating news online alleging that Egypt is currently withdrawing its engineering equipment used in reconstructing the Gaza Strip, moving them towards the Rafah crossing.
Misbar’s Analysis
According to Misbar's correspondent in Gaza, Egypt did not withdraw its reconstruction equipment and bulldozers from the Gaza Strip. Salama Maarouf, the head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, denied the validity of the widely circulated allegation to Misbar, emphasizing that the Egyptian equipment is still operational and visible in the workplace.
Furthermore, on Thursday, December 23, Misbar's team visited the Egyptian equipment's workplace in Gaza and verified the claim. On the Al-Rasheed coastal street in the Sudania area, north of Gaza, Misbar documented the existence and continued work by Egyptian equipment and bulldozers on the project to rebuild parts of it.

As the Israeli occupation and Palestinian factions in Gaza prepare for a possible military conflict, the allegation comes from widespread fear. The expected outbreak is the result of Israel's failure to implement the commitments made in the Gaza ceasefire and truce agreement, as well as Israel's attacks on Palestinian male and female prisoners inside its prisons.
Following the latest Israeli aggression against Gaza, Egypt has pledged to contribute $500 million to the Gaza reconstruction process.
Egypt responded by sending equipment, engineering delegations, and workers to remove the rubbles, design for rebuilding, and launch development and construction projects.
