Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s team investigated the claim and found it misleading. The photo is outdated; it does not show the recent airstrikes that targeted the al-Houthi group’s military and security sites north of Yemen’s Sanaa. Instead, the photo was taken of an Israeli airstrike on Gaza on Aug. 8, 2018. The photo was taken by photographer Mahmud Hams for France Press.

The claim has been circulating against the backdrop of the Saudi-led coalition’s targeting of a number of sites in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa in retaliation for the Houthi-claimed explosions that hit the Emirati capital of Abu Dhabi on the morning of Monday, Jan. 17.
