Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s team investigated the claim and found it fake. The Hague-based ICJ did not issue any verdict ordering the ending of vaccination or vaccine manufacturing and sale. Nor did the U.K. enforce the alleged verdict. After searching ICJ’s official website as well as its Facebook and Twitter accounts, Misbar’s team determined that the alleged claim was not found. No reliable media outlet reported the alleged claim.

The last verdict issued by the ICJ was on Dec. 7, 2021. The ICJ then advised in favor of taking temporary measures in relation to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The website cited in the circulated claims as if it were the ICJ’s official website is called Common Law and has nothing to do with the ICJ. The website claims to provide legal counseling and has precedents in fabricating news and circulating misinformation on more than one occasion, according to Reuters.

The claim has surfaced against the backdrop of countries, including France and Austria, enforcing compulsory vaccination rules. The U.K. prime minister Boris Johnson announced that the country started to ease COVID-19 restrictions.
