Misbar’s team investigated the claim and found it misleading. The video is outdated; it doesn’t show the stowaway recently found by the Dutch police. Instead, it shows a 26-year-old man from Guatemala, a passenger plane in a U.S. airline that landed in Miami in 2021.
U.S. media outlets reported that the young Guatemalan man was hiding in the plane’s landing gear compartment during a flight to Miami on Feb. 28, 2021. The man was handed over to U.S. customs and border protection and taken to a hospital.
Dutch police announced on Jan. 24 that they had found a passenger who stowed away in the wheel of a cargo plane that landed at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from South Africa. The stowaway is a 22-year-old Kenyan man who intends to seek asylum in the Netherlands.
