Three images of dead fish washed up on shores have been widely circulating on social media. Users claim the images depict scenes in Tonga after the tsunami that hit the Pacific Island.

Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. We found that the images belong to other contexts using Google Image Reverse Search. The first image depicts thousands of fish that washed up on a beach in Buddina, Queensland, and was attached to an article in The Courier-Mail in 2015.
