This Video Does Not Show The Recent Airstrikes On Sana'a
The video was uploaded to Youtube in August 2011 (Youtube).

The Claim

A video depicts the most recent airstrikes on Sana'a as a response from the UAE.

Emerging story

Social media users have shared a video purporting to show the most recent airstrikes on Sana'a as a response from the UAE on January 26, 2022.

According to the users, the airstrikes on Sana'a were in response to Houthi rebels who had targeted the Emirati capital.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading.

The video was previously uploaded to YouTube in 2011. On August 29, 2011, it was taken in Libya during the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's airstrikes on Tripoli.

Description: The video was uploaded to Youtube in August 2011.

According to news websites, Washington, Paris, and London launched massive airstrikes against the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi forces in March 2011. NATO took the operation later before the former Libyan leader was killed in October 2011 by his opponents.

Although we do not know if the video is related to airstrikes on Tripoli or Zliten, it has nothing to do with the recent airstrikes on Sana’a since it was uploaded to Youtube in 2011.
