Emerging story

A photo purportedly showing an Israeli rocket missile attack in the vicinity of Damascus at dawn circulated on news websites, pages, and Twitter accounts.

Misbar investigated the claim and found it misleading, as the photo was taken from a video posted on May 10, 2018, which showed extensive Israeli bombings on Iranian targets inside Syria.

At that time, Israeli attacks in Syria targeted 70 targets. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 23 Syrians were killed during the attacks.

The widely circulated report comes after the Syrian regime and its media stated that its air defenses had responded to an Israeli missile strike on a Hezbollah warehouse in Damascus at dawn.
