A video purporting to show the Burj Khalifa being evacuated of visitors has gone viral. The video claims to show the Burj Khalifa being evacuated after an explosion was heard inside the Dubai Expo buildings.

Misbar investigated the claim and discovered it to be baseless. As of January 1, 2016, the video had already been posted to YouTube. According to the YouTube channel, the footage depicts evictions from The Adress Down Town Hotel in Dubai after a fire engulfed the building.
According to news websites, the fire broke out on New Year's Eve 2016 at The Adress Down Town hotel near the Burj Khalifa. They also stated that an electrical fault caused the fire. According to other reports, the tower was evacuated and 16 people were injured.
