Recently, social media pages and accounts have been circulating a video, which its publishers claimed was due to scenes of manual digging during the rescue of Moroccan child Rayan.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating video and discovered it to be misleading because it was posted on YouTube by Orient TV on March 17, 2021. It depicts the Syrian civil defense team's attempt to save Hassan Khader Al-Zaalan, a child who fell into a well in the town of Kafr Ruhin, north of Idlib.
The allegation comes as continuing attempts to rescue the Moroccan child, Ryan, who fell more than 70 hours ago in a deep well in the Northern Moroccan city of Chefchaouen.
