Emerging story
The Israeli government coordinator Ghassan Alyan was asked to delay the assassination of the Nablus martyrs until the end of the central session by Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein Al-Sheikh, according to news websites and social media posts.
An Israeli journalist, Nir Dvory, and the newspaper Hadashot Pethou Sde were cited as the sources of this information.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar's team investigated the claim and found it to be false. The authority's request to postpone the assassination of the Nablus freedom fighters until the end of the Central Council meeting was not reported in the Israeli media.
Misbar's team searched the Israeli media and was unable to locate any news stories related to the information that had been circulated; the Hadshut Bethune Sadeh website also did not publish any information on this topic. In fact, Hadshot Bethou Sadeh is not a newspaper, but a Telegram account and a Facebook page.
According to our findings after searching the two accounts, neither the Hebrew Channel 12 correspondent Nir Dvory nor the channel itself mentioned any of the information in their reports that had been circulated.
On Twitter, Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein Al-Sheikh said that ‘Israel’ is running a ‘media war’ against the Palestinian Authority and the Fatah movement.
