A photo purportedly from the recent bombing of Russian forces on Ukrainian sites has recently circulated on social media accounts and pages.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the image and discovered it was old and not from the Russian bombing of Ukraine but from Iraqi forces firing a rocket at ISIS fighters in Ali Rash village, southeast of Mosul, on November 3, 2016. The original image was modified three times to include a photo of the rocket launcher.
The photo began to circulate as tensions in the Ukraine-Russia conflict rose and the Russian-Ukrainian military buildup on the border continued.
