Emerging story
The news of the death of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, who was said to have tested positive for the Coronavirus just a few days ago, has recently circulated on Facebook and Twitter accounts and pages.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating claim and discovered it to be false. Neither Buckingham Palace, Britain's royal palace, nor any official British source announced Queen Elizabeth II's death.
According to the Royal Palace, Queen Elizabeth II cancelled her online virtual meetings due to symptoms of her newly infected Coronavirus on Tuesday, February 22nd. "As Her Majesty continues to suffer from mild cold-like symptoms, she has decided not to attend her planned virtual meetings today but will continue to perform light tasks," the palace said in a statement.
On Sunday, February 20, the Royal Palace announced that Queen Elizabeth II had tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Queen's Coronavirus test came just days after Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, tested positive for the Coronavirus.
