Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s team investigated the circulated video and found it misleading. The video is outdated and does not show Russian attacks against Ukraine. The video was first shared by media outlets in Aug. 2015, following an explosion at a warehouse storing inflammable material north of the Chinese municipality of Tianjin. The explosion killed seven people and injured over 300 others.

The video started to circulate following Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement this morning, on Thursday, Feb. 24, to start a special military operation in Ukraine’s eastern region of Donbas.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia has launched airstrikes against infrastructure and border guards and imposed martial law across the country.
