Many social media users have shared an image of two children waving goodbye to soldiers on military tanks, claiming it is recent and related to Russia's ongoing military operation in Ukraine.

Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The picture was already shared on social media during the Ukraine conflict in 2016.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence also posted the picture in 2016 with a caption reading: For us, dear parents, dear children, loved ones, relatives; but all nations of love to something are combined in one word that is Homeland.
According to the Facebook post, the image is among many other pictures in the Children of War album by Dimitry Muravsky.

Using Google Image Reverse Search, our team has found the picture posted on some Ukrainian websites as children from the anti-terrorist operation zone arrived on vacation in Dnepropetrovsk. The website added that volunteers had organized a holiday for schoolchildren from the town, where only one school survived the shelling.
