Since February 24, users on social media have been sharing a video clip purporting to show the Russian bombing of Ukrainian regions.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar's investigation revealed that the widely circulated claim is misleading. The video does not depict the recent Russian attack on Ukraine, but rather a military parade in Venezuela, which was posted by social media users in July 2021.
Misbar discovered other photos of the same military vehicles in military parades of the Venezuelan army by searching for the origin of the military vehicles shown in the circulating clip.
The same video shows a panel on one of the lampposts depicting the Venezuelan flag with a picture of Ezequiel Zamora, a former Venezuelan military general known as the "General of the Sovereign People."
