During the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian clashes, an image purporting to show an American B-52 bomber flying in the sky has been making the rounds on Facebook and Twitter.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it misleading. Research into the claim revealed that the image is old and shows a US B-52H Stratofortress aircraft during its flight over southwest Asia on May 21, 2019. The photo was also found posted for sale on Alamy, as seen below.

Another news site further explains that the American bomber aircraft flew from the United States to the Middle East in a round-trip mission as a deterrence to possible Irani aggressions during that period, as pictured below.
