The photo shows Russian President Vladimir Putin dressed in military uniform.

Facebook and Twitter users have recently shared a photo claiming that it shows Russian president Vladimir Putin dressed in military uniform.

Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar’s team investigated the circulated claim and found it fake. The photo is fabricated and photoshopped using two older photos.

The first photo shows Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Russian government with former Moscow Region Governor Boris Gromov, Minister Sergei Shmatko, and IDGC’s Director General Nikolai Shvets, on Jan. 1, 2011.

The second photo was taken by Russian photographer Vitaly Kuzmin from the tactical exercises of the 137th Airborne Regiment, on Sept. 28, 2011.
