Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating and discovered it to be misleading, as the photo was taken on August 17, 2014. The photo depicts a Russian humanitarian aid convoy approaching a checkpoint on the Ukrainian border 30 kilometers outside the town of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in the Rostov region. The photo was taken by Dmitry Serebryakov, an AFP photojournalist.
The claim emerged after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the delivery of 30 tonnes of Russian humanitarian aid to Kharkiv.
On March 10, the foreign ministers of Ukraine and Russia met in Turkey but failed to reach an agreement to end the fighting in Ukraine.
