Social media users have recently circulated a photo purporting to show NATO troops on the road leading to a military base targeted by Russia near Lviv, western Ukraine.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating photo and found the claim to be misleading. The photo is old and has already been published alongside news about the US military. Three people were hospitalized after opening an envelope containing an unknown substance at a military base in Virginia, according to the most recent report, which was published in February, 2018.
The claim emerged after Russian forces targeted a military base on Sunday morning, March 13. The base houses a training institution for peacekeepers near Lviv, in western Ukraine, on the border with Poland.
