Misbar looked into the widely circulated news and found it to be misleading, as the photo is old and had already been published in 2018. Angelina Jolie, a U.S. representative and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador is depicted visiting the Domiz Camp for Syrian Refugees in Iraq's Kurdistan Region.
During her visit, Angelina Jolie met a female refugee and her five children. UNHCR's official YouTube channel and its website both featured a video accompanied by the photo.
The claim emerged following Jolie's March 6, 2022, visit to Yemen.
