Social media users have recirculated an old video, which shows Will Smith making a joke about Bass player John B Williams, who purportedly suffered from Alopecia.

Misbar has investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading. While Will Smith did, in fact, joke about John B’s baldness, there was nothing to prove that the latter suffered from Alopecia.
Following the circulating claim, Bass player John B. Williams clarified that he does not suffer from Alopecia, in an interview with Rolling Stones.
The claim is circulating after Will Smith slapped the comedian Chris Rock following the latter’s joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved hair, which was due to her struggle with Alopecia, at the 2022 Academy Awards ceremony.
