Misbar’s team investigated the circulating claim and found it to be fake.
After conducting a google reverse image check, Misbar’s team was able to find the original photo, which shows former U.S. President Trump sitting behind the desk while the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, stands beside him.
The original photo was shared by several renowned news outlets such as CNN, The U.S. Sun, and MSNBC.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump also shared the original photo via his Instagram account, in 2019.
Based on these findings, Misbar’s team confirms that the circulating image was digitally altered to show the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, sitting behind the presidential desk in the Oval Office.
