Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be fake.

After examining different versions of the video, including the original video shared by Espresso TV, Misbar’s team concluded that there is either a raindrop, or a mark on the car’s windshield which created the illusion of movement. The arm of the corpse did not move.

Furthermore, when the video focuses on trees from the same angle as the corpse, the mark on the windshield clearly gives the impression of movement.

Description: The same mark on the windshield creates the illusion of movement.

The claim began circulating after Russian media erroneously claimed that the Bucha massacre was staged.

Several renowned media outlets have shared satellite footage, which compares the streets of Bucha before and after the massacre. The footage shows corpses laid around the streets of Bucha.

According to the BBC, Russia's actions in Bucha and Irpin are being investigated by Ukraine for war crimes. There have been 410 bodies discovered so far across the two suburbs.
