Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar's investigation revealed that the circulating photo is misleading.
Fahima al-Hroub, a 60-year-old woman, killed by Israeli soldiers on May 2, 2021, is the woman in the viral video. She was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers at the Gush Etzion junction near Bethlehem.
Ghada Sabatin shot dead by Israeli soldiers
The allegation surfaced after Israeli forces killed Ghada Sabatin, 45, in Bethlehem on Sunday, April 10, 2022. Sabatin was shot in the lower body after 'approaching IDF soldiers suspiciously,' according to the Israeli Forces. However, further investigations revealed that she had no weapons on her body.
According to Palestinian sources, Sabatin is a widowed mother of six who had lost one of her eyes several years ago and suffered from poor vision.
“A Crime Against Humanity”
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned Sabatin's killing, saying, "Israel is fully responsible for the consequences of this heinous crime."
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called Sabatin's killing a "crime against humanity."
