Social media users are widely circulating a photo, which allegedly shows a screenshot of a CNN tweet about child soldiers in Ukraine.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating photo and found the claim to be fake.
After an advanced Google search, Misbar’s team found no trace of the alleged tweet. No reliable news outlet has reported on the alleged tweet. A Twitter search also proved that the Tweet was not shared by any official CNN accounts.
Moreover, a reverse image search helped Misbar’s team in tracing the photo to a 2018 news article published by The Sunday Times. The article explains that the photo was taken at a Ukrainian summer camp where children learn battlefield skills.
Based on these findings, Misbar’s team confirms that the shared screenshot is, in fact, a digitally edited image.
