The Misbar team investigated the claim and discovered it to be false. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates was not suspended from Twitter despite the screenshot circulating is digitally altered.
Did Twitter Suspend Bill Gates?
Using Google Advanced Search, we found no evidence that Twitter had suspended Bill Gates, nor any relevant media outlet or news articles reporting on the alleged Twitter suspension of the Microsoft co-founder from the platform.
Three archive screenshots of Bill Gates' Twitter account, taken on April 25, 2022, at three different times of the day when the claim began to circulate, also proved that he was not suspended.
However, he also quote-tweeted one of The Global Fund’s tweets on April 25, 2022.
