2021 Clip Shared as Recent
Using Google Advanced Search, our team discovered that the video is old and was posted to social media platforms on August 28, 2021. According to a Facebook post, the video was shared because "a woman in Kaduna State was caught red-handed kidnapping children and keeping them in her house for months."
The woman, according to the Facebook user, was trafficking the children to the eastern part of Nigeria in order to sell them.
A Student Killed in Sokoto, Nigeria
Many protests broke out in Sokoto, Nigeria, after students beat the Christian student Deborah Samuel to death and burned her on May 12, 2022, accusing her of posting “blasphemous” statements about the Prophet Mohammed on a WhatsApp group.
Protesters took to the streets after two students were arrested and other suspects in Samuel's murder video were investigated.
The Nigerian state government of Sokoto has declared an immediate 24-hour curfew to quell protests calling for the suspects' release.
