Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be a commotion, meant to exaggerate and attract attention. The Asteroid known as 7335 (1989 JA), will approach Earth on Friday, May 27, and will be 2.5 million miles away, or 10.5 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon. It will pass safely and will not be visible to the naked eye. Images below of credible news sources confirm this.

7335 (1989 JA)
The asteroid was discovered in 1989 by astronomer Eleanor Helen at Palomar Observatory in Southern California, and it was classified as "potentially dangerous" because it is an Apollo Asteroid, which means it crosses Earth's orbit. The asteroid is estimated to be 1.1 miles (5,905 feet) long and 3,609 feet in diameter (1,100 meters or roughly 10 American football fields laid end to end), and it orbits the Sun every 2.35 years. As shown in the image below, the asteroid will pass close to Earth on June 23, 2055, May 20, 2081, May 21, 2114, and June 4, 2154.

Based on the findings, an Asteroid is expected to pass near Earth on May 27, 2022. However, it does not threaten Earth, and will not cause any destruction to the planet.
