Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. The clip shows an attack on two people accused of kidnapping and trafficking children in India's Manawar area on February 5, 2020.
Assault on Children Kidnapping Suspects
According to Indian News Websites, one person was killed and six others were injured after many residents of the Indian region of Manawar in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh accused the victims of kidnapping children.
On February 5, 2020, the residents assaulted the suspects.
Offensive Remarks on the Prophet Muhammad
The claim began to circulate after two members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party made insulting remarks about the Prophet Muhammad. Many Arab and Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait have condemned the offensive comments.
Following the comments that offended many countries, the BJP responded by suspending the two members. The party also released a blanket statement, mentioning that the BJP “respects all religions” and “strongly denounces insults of any religious personalities of any religion.”
