Misbar's investigation revealed that the circulating is misleading. The photo was featured in an article by the Associated Press on June 9 about a recent flood in southern China that killed at least 17 people.
Floods in Turkey
The claim started circulating following floods caused by heavy rains in Turkey's provinces, particularly in Ankara, killing at least four people. The flooding caused extensive damage to many facilities.
Floods in China
Floods and storms in the southern Chinese province of Hunan have killed dozens of people and left others missing since the beginning of June. More than 2,700 homes were destroyed, and agricultural crops were harmed. Authorities in Hunan evacuated nearly 286,000 people, bringing the total number of people affected by the floods to around 1.79 million.
