A photo purporting to be an anti-LGBTQ billboard in Qatar has recently circulated on news sites and social media.
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it misleading, as the billboard is located in Bahrain, not Qatar. The first to publish the circulating illustration was Bahrain's Islamic Guidance Society.
By using Google Maps, Misbar was able to find the exact location of the Al-Hidaya Society in Bahrain, where the photos were taken.
The illustrations were discovered to be based on photos shared by the Al-Hidaya Association on its Twitter account.
