Mosimane Has Not Signed With Any Qatari Football Club

Misbar investigated the claim and found it to be fake, no credible news sources indicated that Pitso Mosimane is signing up with a Qatari team. Moreover, the image accompanying many of the claims is outdated.

Mosimane Still Assessing Options

Mosimane’s management team released a statement following his departure from Egypt’s Al Ahly club. The statement clarifies that they were still assessing the options available to the coach. They added that they were aware of the rumors and insinuations that he has signed with a Qatari team. However, they confirmed he has not signed with any team as yet. The Coaching team will be returning to South Africa in due course and thus far have gotten several enquiries from both international and national South African teams. Outdated Image of Pitso Mosimane

The image accompanying many of the claims of Mosimane holding up an Al Sadd football club jersey is from May 2021 and is unrelated to any new contract deals. The image can be seen below.

The club had posted the image, congratulating Mosimane when Al Ahly won the 2020/21 Caf Super Cup champions against Moroccan team RS Berkane at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar. It is noteworthy to mention that Mosimane ended his football playing career with Al Sadd in the 1990s.

Moreover, no credible Qatari sources mentioned that they are in discussions with Mosimane to sign a new contract. 

The claims come following the abrupt, yet mutually agreed upon the termination of Mosimane’s contract with Egyptian football club Al Ahly. At the time of this article, Mosimane is unsigned and assessing his options.
