Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading. There is no evidence that Bill Gates is responsible for the deaths of thousands of cattle.

Heat Stress Caused Thousands of Cattle Deaths

Thousands of cattle in feedlots in southwestern Kansas have died of heat stress as a result of recent high temperatures, high humidity, and little wind, according to media reports. According to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, high temperatures and humidity have caused at least 2,000 cattle deaths.

After the incident sparked many discussions about the reasons for the death, Kansas agriculture officials confirmed there is no indo=ication of any other cause. “Last week, temperatures were in the 70s and 80s, but on Saturday, they spiked higher than 100 degrees,” Scarlett Hagins, spokeswoman for the Kansas Livestock Association, told CBS News.

Hagins also told CBS News: “The deaths represent a huge economic loss because the animals, which typically weigh around 1,500 pounds, are worth around $2,000 per head.” She added that the federal disaster programs would help some producers who incurred a loss. However, no credible sources have reported or mentioned that Bill Gates was involved in the cattle deaths.
