Misbarโ€™s Analysis

Misbar investigated the claim and discovered it to be fake.

Flight Simulation Video from X-Plane 11

The circulated video does not depict an Indonesian crashed plane. The first 33 seconds of the video were published by a YouTube user, Bopbibun, on May 2, 2020. The clip shows a flight simulation using the video game, X-Plane 11. The video's title is, โ€œMost Crazy Emergency Landing By Drunk Pilot | X-Plane 11.โ€

The user also makes it clear to his followers in the video caption, โ€œImportant: This is only in the flight simulation. This situation is not real! Everything in this video doesnโ€™t happen in real life, because this situation is just a challenge for me to try in the flight simulation.โ€

X-Plane 11

X-Plane is a flight simulation video game, pre-packaged with several commercial and military aircraft, as well as global scenery that covers most of the Earth. X-Plane also has a plugin architecture that allows users to create their own modules, extending the functionality of the software by letting users create their own worlds or replicas of places on Earth. This is further enhanced by the X-Plane forums, where users can share aircraft, scenery, plugins, and the Scenery Gateway website.

Furthermore, neither Garuda nor any other official Indonesian Airline reported an Indonesian pilgrim plane crash at an airport in the previous weeks.

The Second Part of the Circulated Video

The second part of the circulated video shows an emergency landing Iranian plane, not an Indonesian plane, at Isfahan Airport coming from Mashhad Airport in January 2022.

According to the Aviation Safety Network, Caspian Airlines flight 6904, a Boeing 737-4H6, sustained substantial damage when the left-hand main gear collapsed on landing at Isfahan-Shahid Beheshti Airport (IFN/OIFM), Iran. Five passengers were injured due to the evacuation.
