According to Spanish news outlets, Barcelona is seeking an entry permit to the United States for its football manager. The club intended for Xavi to be in the United States for the final practice before the team's first match on July 20. However, Xavi was unable to attend the game. As of this writing, Xavi has still been denied entry into the United States.

On Saturday, July 16, the Barcelona football team traveled to the United States to play four matches in four different cities. The team's first game was against Inter Miami at the latter's home stadium, DRV PNK Stadium. In the preseason match, Barcelona defeated Inter Miami 6-0.
