Recently, social media users have widely circulated an image purporting to show Agnetha Fältskog, famous member of the renowned pop group ABBA, holding a T-shirt that symbolizes her solidarity with Ukraine.
The T-shirt has a picture of the members of ABBA, the map of Ukraine and a phrase that reads: “STAND WITH UKRAINE.”
Misbar’s Analysis
Misbar has investigated the claim and found it to be fake. The photo is digitally edited.
Using Google reverse image search, Misbar’s team was able to find several versions of the digitally edited photo. Most of the photos are found on marketing websites, as can be seen below.

Digital editing is evident in the circulating photo. As a result of the digital tampering, the hair edges are blurry, the creases on the neck suggest that the body should be in a different position, and the hands holding the T-shirt stand out as blatant signs of alterations.
Misbar’s team searched for photos of Agnetha Fältskog and found one that matches the circulating picture, as can be seen below.

Misbar found that the original photo dates back to 2013. Earthy Photography, a professional corporate photography service, published it within a collection of Portraits of Agnetha Fältskog on May 13, 2013.
Based on these findings, Misbar confirms that the circulating claim is fake. The photo of Agnetha Fältskog holding a T-Shirt in solidarity with Ukraine is digitally edited. The original photo predates the war on Ukraine.
