Even though Wydad's contract with Mosimane and Bencharki was announced on a page which displayed the club's name, the page is not official. Moreover, the news was not announced by the club.

The last post by Wydad’s official page was on July 22, after the Moroccan club had won the award for the best club in Africa, by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Rumors of Wydad Contracting With Mosimane

Rumors began to circulate about Mosimane after former Moroccan Wydad coach Walid Regragui left the team. This occurred after Wydad lost the Throne Cup final on July 29 to Nahdat Berkane. According to the media, Moroccan Wydad has begun to look for a new technical director for the team, and several coaches' files are being discussed to take over the team's technical management. Mosimane has been unofficially identified as one of them.

Who is Pitso Mosimane?

Pitso Mosimane is the former coach of the Al Ahly football club. In October 2020, Mosimane took over the leadership of the team. During his time with Al Ahly, the club won the African Champions League twice, the African Super Cup twice, the bronze in the Club World Cup twice, and the Egypt Cup once. By mutual consent, Al Ahly and Mosimane ended their collaboration last June.

Achraf Bencharki, Former Zamalek Player

Achraf Bencharki, a Moroccan footballer, has been a player for the Egyptian Zamalek club since 2019. He announced leaving the team last July, after his contract with the club ended. On August 2, media reports indicated that the player is close to joining the UAE’s Al Jazira Club. Bencharki also played for the Moroccan club Wydad and the Saudi Al-Hilal (SFC).
