2013 Amba Moussa Church Fire
The misleadingly circulated photo was taken on August 27, 2013. It shows the burned facade of the Amba Moussa Coptic church in the central Egyptian city of Minya.
In 2013, Christians in Egypt alleged they were the victims of at least a dozen ethnic and religious attacks.
Cairo’s Coptic Church on Fire
The claim began to circulate this morning, after a fire broke out inside the Coptic Church in Giza Governorate, Egypt, killing at least 41 worshippers, including 10 children, and injuring dozens more.
According to local reports, at least 5000 worshippers attended today's Coptic Church mass.
No immediate information was available about what started the church fire. According to a police statement, an initial investigation revealed an electrical short-circuit.
