Two photos purportedly depicting the recent floods in Pakistan have recently circulated on social media.

Misbar investigated the circulating photos and found them misleading.
2009 Photo from Vietnam
This photo depicts a child carrying his dog through floodwaters in Hau Giang Province, southern Vietnam. The photo was taken on November 28 by Nguyen Thanh Luy.
The photo has been uploaded to the VN Express photo gallery.
"This photo was taken during my journey from Hau Giang province through An Giang province," the photojournalist states in the photo caption.
The photo was also posted to Flickr with the caption "Status of the environment in Bac Lieu Province, Vietnam."
Photo Taken in India in 2014
Contrary to the viral claims, this photo of a woman holding a child in a basin above her head was actually taken in India in 2014. By using reverse image search on Google image search and TinEye, Misbar discovered that the photo was first published in September 2014.
2022 Floods in Pakistan
Since June, flash floods caused by catastrophic monsoon rains have killed over 1,000 people and injured thousands more in Pakistan. According to officials, and forced thousands more to flee their homes.
The latest death toll was announced one day after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif requested assistance from other countries to deal with the devastation caused by the floods. Over 33 million people have been displaced.
As heavy rains continued to lash parts of the country, the National Disaster Management Authority reported 119 deaths in the previous 24 hours on Sunday. Since mid-June, at least 1,033 people have died and at least 1,456 have been injured.
Rescuers are struggling to reach thousands of marooned people in flood-ravaged Pakistan, which has become inaccessible in many places.
