Misbar’s Analysis

Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading.

The list in circulation was not issued by an official Qatari authority or The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, which is in charge of monitoring Qatar's World Cup hosting.

Reflect Your Respect Campaign

The “Reflect Your Respect” campaign was launched by activists on social networking sites. The infographic, which includes a call to avoid certain behaviors, was also designed by non-governmental activists. The campaign urges World Cup fans in Qatar to respect Arab and Islamic culture and customs.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Denies Claims

The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy of the World Cup 2022 tweeted that the "Qatar Welcomes You" post was not official.

The committee said the publication contained inaccurate information and asked World Cup fans and visitors to Qatar to only rely on official sources from organizers.

The International Football Association is working to publish a thorough fan guide that clarifies all the information currently being spread.
