Tweets Are Not from Trump’s Official Account

The circulating tweets originate from either parody or fake Donald Trump accounts.

The tweet from a parody verified account pretending to be Donald Trump led many social media users to believe that Donald Trump is back on the platform. 

The account's bio, however, confirms that it is a parody account.

Up till October 30, 2022, Donald Trump’s official account, @realDonaldTrump, is still suspended.

Elon Musk Takes Control of Twitter

The claim sparked following Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, completed the $44 billion Twitter acquisition.

Musk has previously stated that he will lift bans on polarizing figures who had been previously suspended, including former U.S. President Donald Trump.

However, following Twitter's acquisition, Elon Musk stated that a council would be established to make crucial moderation decisions for the company. 

He stated that he will not reactivate any accounts or make major content decisions until the committee is formed.

Trump Congratulates Musk on Twitter’s Acquisition

On Friday morning, Donald Trump posted a statement on his Truth Social account regarding Musk's Twitter deal.

He stated in a post on his social media platform that he was relieved that Twitter "will no longer be run by Radical Left Lunatics and Maniacs that truly hate our country."
