Misbar investigated the circulating claim and found it to be misleading. The World Cup trophy replicas were not made by Qatar. The photo shows the seizure of 144 fake World Cups trophies by the Qatari authorities on November 2.

Qatari officials acted on a piece of information suggesting that a website promotes the sale of World Cup trophy replicas. The Economic and Cyber Crimes Combating Department cooperated with the Intellectual Property Protection Committee to seize 144 counterfeit FIFA World Cup trophies.

A statement published by Qatar's Ministry of Interior via its official Twitter account mentioned that the replicas violate “law No.10 of 2021 regarding measures to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
