Son Heung-min Confirms Going to World Cup 2022
The Tottenham forward posted a statement via his official Instagram account reading: "Hi everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you all for the messages of support I have received over the last week. I have read so many of them and truly, truly appreciate you all. In a tough time, I received a lot of strength from you!”
The South Korean striker added: "Playing for your country at the World Cup is the dream of so many children growing up, just as it was one of mine too. I won't miss this for the world. I can't wait to represent our beautiful country, see you soon."
The statement was released after Heung-min had a surgery to stabilise a fracture around his left eye. The footballer had been injured in Tottenham's match facing Marseille in the Champions League a few days ago.
World Cup Qatar 2022
The claim is being circulated days before the World Cup 2022 begins.
This will be the first time the World Cup tournament is held in an Arab country.
This is Asia's second World Cup after the 2002 World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
South Korea is in Group H with Uruguay, Portugal, and Ghana.
